About the chapter

A local room for people building agents.

Free, volunteer-run, and open to anyone who's curious, whether you've shipped agents to production or you're still working out what the word means.

The Agentic AI Foundation is a Linux Foundation project working on how agentic AI actually runs at scale: the standards, the governance, the tooling. Its working groups cover reliability, identity and trust, observability, security, and more.

This chapter brings that work to Sri Lanka. Meetups, workshops and contribution sessions, so the people building agents locally are part of the conversation rather than reading about it six months late.

We're a community chapter, not an official channel of the foundation. We run under its name and its Code of Conduct, but the views at our events are the speakers' own.

  • 01

    Practitioners, not pitch decks

Every session is from someone who shipped the thing. Real architectures, real failure modes, real numbers, including the parts that didn't work.

  • 02

    Open standards over lock-in

The agent stack is being decided right now, in the open. We'd rather Sri Lankan engineers help write it than integrate against it years later.

  • 03

    A path to contributing

Meetups are the front door. The point is what comes after: landing a PR, writing a spec comment, maintaining something people depend on.

Who runs it

One ambassador, two organizers

AAIF appoints ambassadors: its first cohort spans 138 people across 41 countries, and Ayesha Dissanayaka is Sri Lanka's. The other two run the chapter alongside her without that title. All volunteers, all with day jobs.
